Although it’s not often spoken about – even in environmental circles – legal agreements can be a tremendously powerful way of advancing sustainability practices in a wide variety of areas. When a like-minded client comes to TLT, the company’s specialist practitioners are able to provide climate-conscious drafting of documents which can take into account areas such as energy efficiency, construction methods, biodiversity protections, supply chain compliance, waste management, circularity, green infrastructure, emissions and environmental law.

Alongside this work, TLT itself is on a sustainability journey and has worked to achieve GreenCode Accreditation in order to reflect this. The organisation has switched to green energy at its locations across the UK. The Manchester office is situated in the Eden – the UK's most sustainable building, and TLT’s Glasgow office is already net-zero.

TLT has set itself a Net Zero target of 2040, implementing a platform to record, manage and reduce GHG emissions. In addition, publishes a comprehensive impact report each year.

While many firms struggle with a disconnect between stated climate ambitions and employee engagement on the topic, TLT has established employee-led sustainability forums. Over 70 staff members are actively sharing sustainability knowledge and driving change internally, bringing a positive environmental impact to the workplace.

Externally, TLT partners with like-minded organisations and carries out pro bono work for charities dedicated to lowering emissions and protecting the planet.
